How to Manage Access to a Label
This article describes how to manage access to a label. How to share access to a label.
By default, a newly created label is accessible only to the user who created it. To allow other users (for example, colleagues who need to review the label) to access it, the label must be shared.
How to Share a Label
In the Label Detail sidebar panel, navigate to the My Team section. Select the User(s), Team(s), or Insight(s) you would like to share the label with and assign the appropriate access level.
Optionally, you may include a message that will be sent as part of the notification to the selected recipients.

Sharing Options
You can share a label with different types of recipients:
- User – A specific user. You can grant either Reader or Editor access.
- Team – A group of users. You can grant Reader or Editor access. All members of the selected team will automatically receive the assigned role.

Insight (formerly Channel) – A folder used to organize labels, for example by project or topic. All subscribers of the Insight will automatically receive Reader access to the label.
Notifications
After a label is shared, recipients will receive an in-app notification and an email notification*.
* Email notifications depend on the individual user’s email notification settings.
How to Change the Access Level
For users and teams, you can change the access level at any time. Simply click the access level button and switch between Reader and Editor.
How to Unshare a Label
To remove access for a user, team, or insight, open the More actions menu (three dots) next to the shared member and select Remove. This will revoke their access to the label.
How to Change the Owner (Transfer Ownership)
Ownership can only be transferred by the current owner, and only to users the label has already been shared with.
To transfer ownership:
- Open the More actions menu (three dots) next to the shared user.
- Select Transfer ownership.
👉The selected user will then become the new owner of the label.
How to add “Can manage label” extra rights
The “Can manage label” extra right can be assigned to users or teams who already have EDITOR access to a label.
This permission allows the user to change the label status, a capability that is otherwise reserved for the OWNER by default.
To add “Can Manage Label” extra rights:
- Open the More actions menu (three dots) next to the shared user or team with EDITOR access.

Check “Can manage label”.
Label Access Level Control
- Labels you created can be found under: My Space → LABELWISE → Labels → Created by Me
- Labels shared with you with EDITOR access can be found under: My Space → LABELWISE → Labels → Assigned to Me
- All labels you have access to can be found under: My Space → LABELWISE → Labels → All
