What is a Signal
Understanding the building blocks of your regulatory intelligence.
A Signal is a specific object within the Digicomply system designed to capture small, critical pieces of information. Unlike a "Post" (which is a full document or regulation), a Signal is often a user-generated insight, an extracted requirement, or a specific note that is important for your workflow.
The Signals are gathered in objects called Insights and also can be found in your organization space where you can search and filter.
A Signal is more than just text; it is a structured data point. It consists of:
-
Rich Text: The core description or analysis of the information.
-
References: It can be linked to other objects, including Posts, Dossiers, other Signals, or external web links.
-
Tags: Keywords for easy filtering.
-
Custom Properties: It can be extended with specific metadata based on your organization's requirements, such as Market, Priority, or internal status.
The Signal detail can look similar to this:

Each Signal has a version control, so everytime you modify the Signal, a new version is created. You can check the Signals versions at the end of the Signal detail in a section COMMENTS & HISTORY under a History tab.

You can also comment Signals, mention users in your comments and also assign tasks with deadlines. Comments can be found similar to the Signal History at the end of the Signal detail in section COMMENTS & HISTORY in Comments tab.
