How to Search Within a Document (Post)
Using the in-document search tool to find specific keywords or phrases.
When viewing a long regulatory document or post, you can quickly locate specific terms without reading the entire text. The system provides a dedicated search bar for scanning the content of the open document.
Activating the Search Bar
You can open the search tool using one of two methods:
-
Toolbar Icon: Click the Magnifying Glass icon (document search) located in the top right toolbar of the post view.
-
Keyboard Shortcut: Press CTRL+F (Windows) or CMD+F (Mac) on your keyboard.
Using the Search Tool
Once the "POST SEARCH" bar appears:
- Enter Keywords: Type the word or phrase you are looking for into the text field.
- Navigate Matches:
- The system will display the total number of matches found (e.g., "1 / 5").
- Use the Up (∧) and Down (∨) arrows next to the search box to jump between instances of the keyword within the text.
- Close: Click the X icon to close the search bar and return to normal viewing.
Note: This tool performs an exact text match for your keywords within the currently open document. It does not search across other documents or the rest of the database.
