How to Monitor Food Fraud Incidents

Setting up dedicated feeds to track alerts, recalls, and fraud records.

Monitoring food fraud is essential for risk mitigation. In SGS Digicomply, there are two primary ways to create a dedicated monitoring feed for fraud-related events: using the Incidents Module or the General Search Tool.

Creating a Feed from the Incidents Module

This method is best for visualizing data through charts before saving your query.

  • Navigate to Incidents: Open the dedicated Incidents module.

  • Define Scope: Search for the specific ingredients, products, or product categories you wish to monitor.

  • Filter by Fraud: Locate the interactive chart labeled "Incident Categories". Click on the slice or bar labeled 'Fraud'.

    • Result: The search query and dashboard will automatically update to show only    fraud-related records for your selected products.

  • Save: Click the Save to Feeds button to finalize your monitoring setup.

Creating a Feed from the Search Tool

This method is best for building precise, text-based queries using specific topics and hazards.

  • Navigate to Search: Open the Search tab in the main menu.

  • Select Scope: Ensure the "All Posts" tab is selected.

  • Apply Filters: In the filter bar, apply the following criteria:

  • Refine Search: Add your specific ingredients or products in the search bar (e.g., "Honey," "Olive Oil").

  • Save: Once the results appear, click Save to Feeds.

Finalizing Your Feed

Regardless of which method you chose above, the final steps to enable monitoring are the same:

  • Name the Feed: Give your feed a clear name (e.g., "Olive Oil Fraud Monitoring").

  • Set Notifications: Choose your notification schedule (e.g., Weekly, Daily, or None).

  • Sort Order: Specify if you want results ordered by Date (chronological) or Relevancy.

Managing & Exporting Data

  • Monitoring: To view your updates, simply navigate to the Feed menu. Here you can view new records, modify the query, remove the feed, or share it with peers.

  • Exporting Data:

License Restriction: You can export the outcome of your feed to a downloadable Excel file. Please note that this feature is available exclusively for users with an Ultimate License.
