Selecting the Correct Post Type
Understanding the classification system for new posts.
When creating a new post in SGS Digicomply, accurate classification is key for searchability and compliance tracking. While the system uses an automated detection algorithm to suggest a type, you should verify that it matches one of the four core definitions below.
Regulation
Use this type for documents containing mandatory legal requirements published by an official authority (e.g., EU Regulations, FDA Rules). These are legally binding.
Guidance
Use this type for documents that contain explanatory notes or interpretations of requirements.
-
Sources: Authorities, industry associations, international organizations, or internal policies.
-
Status: Not legally binding, but "useful to know" for achieving compliance.
Scientific
Use this type for peer-reviewed scientific articles or technical opinions.
-
Content: Describes matter in a scientific way (e.g., EFSA scientific opinions, toxicity studies).
-
Impact: Often influences future legislation but is not law itself.
News
Use this type for any information that does not fit the categories above.
-
Includes: Alerts, recalls, and general industry updates.
-
Excludes: Social media posts (which are handled separately).
