      How to Use Food Regulatory Analytics

      A guide to comparing regulatory status across multiple markets and classes.

      The Food Regulatory Analytics (FRA) widget is a comparative tool designed to visualize the regulatory landscape at a high level. Its main goal is to allow you to easily compare the status of specific Regulatory Classes (e.g., General Food Law, Additives) across multiple Markets simultaneously.

      Generating the Matrix

      To build your comparison table, you must configure the two main dropdown filters located at the top of the widget:

      1. Regulatory Area/Class: Select the specific topics you are interested in (e.g., Dietary Supplements, Labeling, Contaminants). You can select multiple values.
      2. Market: Select the countries or regions you wish to analyze.
      3. Generate: Once your selection is made, click the orange 'Apply' button to render the analytics matrix.

      The Data Legend

      The resulting table provides an immediate visual status for each Market/Class combination.

      ✅ Unregulated - No specific restrictions found for this class in this market.

      ❗Regulated - Regulations exist for this class (either local laws or inherited international regulations like EU law).

      ❔ Unverified - The status has not yet been fully verified by the system.


      If you see a warning triangle icon ⚠️ next to a market name, this indicates that data for this market is not yet fully available. In some cases, partial data may be present, but you should not rely on it for compliance decisions until the warning is removed.

      Interacting with the Data 

      The matrix is interactive. You can click on various elements to access deeper layers of the Knowledge Base:

      • Clicking a Market Name (Column Header): This redirects you to the full Food Regulatory Guide (FRG) for that specific country.

      • Clicking a Regulatory Class (Row Header): This opens a detailed view showing all regulations governing that specific topic across all the selected markets.

      • Clicking a Status Icon (Specific Cell): Clicking a specific Red or Green icon will show the granular detail for that single Regulatory Class within that specific Market.

      Setting Up Change Notifications

      You can monitor your selected matrix for future updates without having to manually check the table every day.

      • How to Activate: Click the "Notify Me About changes" button located in the top-right corner of the widget.

      • What it Tracks: You will receive updates whenever a Regulatory Class in your selection is updated (e.g., a new regulation is released or an amendment is added).
